Question and Answers

Q:

Whirlpool Microwave g2 convect

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The number provided is not valid model number. Without a valid model number I will not be able to provide any model specific information. Based on your symptom; it could have a stuck key or shorted key pad.

I am sorry, but we do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. That's why I strongly warn you to have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.

Normally at ManageMyLife.com we like to help you with all of your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous.

Q:

How do I remove G-2 roller ball ink from my dryer drum?

A:

It depends on how much ink has transferred to the drum. It would not be practical to try to clean the entire drum of ink. You also do not want to use any type of cleaner that would remove the painted surface of the drum too.

  • Mix some powdered laundry detergent and some water into a paste and rub gently to remove the ink. After removing all the ink that you can, wipe the drum with a damp cloth. Place a load of some old clean damp towels or rags in the dryer and run it on medium heat for 20 minutes or so to see if any of the ink transfer to the towels/rags. Not all the ink likely will not come off or transfer onto the clothes once is has been heated and set in. (See image below)

The image below has some other tips on cleaning too.
