Question and Answers

Q:

How can I get an operators manual or a repair manual for engine 143386040

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. I have found an operator manual for a mower that is similar to yours. Please click here to load the manual. If the manual does not give you what you need please reply below with more details. We do not offer a repair manual but I should be able to give you what is needed to make the repair.

I hope this is helpful.

Q:

Why does my dryer start but not turn and after a few seconds, it cuts off and won't start back up for awhile?

A:

The symptoms that you describe point to a motor or friction problem. See if the drum will turn with reasonable resistance due to the belt being on the motor pulley. You should be able to turn it by pushing on one of the baffles inside the drum. If it is extremely difficult to turn the drum, then this friction problem is causing the motor to overheat after buzzing for a few seconds because it cannot turn the drum. The motor will kick off on an overload protector and will not restart until it cools down.

The friction problem could be caused by a bound up drive motor or a problem with the drum turning freely due to a failed support roller or felt seal. You would need to unplug the dryer, shut off the gas supply and open up the dryer cabinet to determine the cause of this type of problem. The procedure for accessing the internal components for this type of dryer is shown in the images below. Your console will likely be different than the one shown below. You will likely need to push a putty knife under the endcap of each side of the console to release a clip that secures the console to the top panel. Without the full model number of your Kenmore 800 Series dryer, I cannot see the specific type that your exact model of dryer has. The procedures below should help you open the cabinet so that you can determine the cause of the friction problem that is likely causing your dryer problem.

If you are able to determine the cause of your failure, you can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website if needed.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore Series 800 dryer.

Q:

kenmore 800 washing machine

A:

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer. Usually when the washer agitates right when the cycle is started, it is a faulty load sense switch. The load sense switch is located in the console of the washer. I have provided you with the instructions for opening the console. The load switch has the clear pressure hose attached to it. To make sure the load sense switch is the cause of the problem, unplug the two-wire connector on the load sense switch. Then start a cycle. If the washer does not do anything, the load sense is defective. If the washer still agitates, the problem is most likely the timer. The part number for the load sense switch is W10177795 and can be ordered from the following link. load sense switch
