Question and Answers

Q:

model 316 71119

A:

Thank you for your question.

I searched for the length of the line in the manual. This information is not listed. I also checked the specifications on the replacement line. The length is not listed. I recommend checking at your local Sears store. The should allow you to measure the line from the shelf.

I am sorry I could not help.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Lawn Tractor #917 287 140

A:

Thank you for your question. The bagger I show listed for the tractor is 917249030. I looked up the lower chute for that model and it is part number 405455. the lower chute can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct . I believe the lower chute is compatible with the bagger you have. We do not have any bagger here to confirm the tube sizes.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Have there been any profound problems with weedwhacker model # 316 79184 driveshafts????

A:

Thank you for your question on the weed-whacker breaking the upper drive shafts.

I do not see any service issues with this model regarding breaking these flex shafts.

I can understand getting tired of the expense and down time between repairs.

This is a split boom trimmer with a bent shaft head.

Can you tell be where the shaft is breaking?

Is there grass wrapping around the head and stalling it which would put some extra stress on the drive flex shaft?

Are you using the string head or have you changed the cutting head to a different style.

Is it possible that you are using a different accessory on the end of the split boom like the roto-tiller accessory?

Please let me know a little more detail as how it is being used.

A:

Thank you for the update Steve and I am sorry if I have confused you with foreign terminology. The booms are the down tubes that the drive cables are in and because you can attach other accessories to your model motor power unit they call the boom on this one a split boom instead of a full length boom. I am still waiting for an answer from the manufacturer on the broken lower cable problem. Hope to talk to you soon. Sam A.

A:

Thank you for the update on the broken flex shafts. I think the problem may be in the tube itself. I should hear from the manufacture soon on the status of the ones they are testing, and then sending you a replacement. When they contact me I will need to have your mailing address sent to my e-mail address @ sande38@searshc.com. Thank you for your patience. Sam A.
