Q:

e 31

A:

I provided information about that E 31 code in the image below. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services . There are many wires inside that cook top. Those wires need to be routed properly when the cook top is reassembled after the inside is accessed for service. If you open this cook top on your own, there is a chance that it may not work properly unless it is properly reassembled. If you are completely confident that you can shut off the house circuit breaker to completely disconnect electrical power and access the components, then you may be able to perform the troubleshooting that his shown below for that fault code 31. Be sure that you reassemble the cook top properly. If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.

Be sure that you completely disconnect electrical power to the cook top before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

what does code f 05 mean

A:

The "F05" fault code indicates a Water Temperature Sensor Error. If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "F05" error code will be displayed. See image below for further instructions.

Potential Causes:

  1. Check the Water Temperature Sensor resistance. It should measure 9.7K ohms at 86 degrees.
  2. Check connections to the Water Temperature Sensor
You will likely find the wire connection had come loose from the temperature sensor. Without having the model number of your HE3t washer I will not be able to confirm if the heater and sensor is located at the lower backside of the tub or at the front lower section of the tub. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel and checking for loose connections on the temperature sensor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
