Question and Answers

Q:

What is an E1 error?

A:

Your digital display should have shown a F1 and not an E1 error code. F1 indicates a primary control failure. Meaning the machine control board will need to be replaced. I recommend calling a service technician to repair your dryer.

Q:

I got a new HE2 plus washer in Apr. 2008. Yesterday I interupted the 54 min. wash cycle with 1 minute left on spin. Now I can't clear an F-1 error. Help please.

A:

The "F1" fault code implies an EEPROM error. This means the Central Control Unit (CCU) will need to be removed and replaced. The CCU is located under the top of the washer and is mounted on the upper side of the side panel. Without having the specific model number I will not be able to provide the part number of the CCU.
