Question and Answers

Q:

Propane conversion kit

A:

I do not see a conversion kit listed for that Magic Chef range. I also did not find information on part number 7400991. The owner's manual or installation guide for your range should have information about the conversion to LP gas. I do not have a copy of those documents for that range. If you do not find information about the conversion in your owner's manual or installation guide, I recommend that you contact your local gas supplier to complete that conversion if that range can be converted.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further even though we have limited information on this older Magic Chef range.

Hello Melissa. Thanks for updating that part number. That LP conversion kit 74009911 is designed for certain Amana and Maytag ranges but I did not see your Magic Chef range model 3110PRW listed when I cross referenced that ranges that use that kit. I do not think that kit 74009911 will work on your Magic Chef range to convert it to LP gas. Unless you have the original installation guide or owner's manual that provides LP conversion instructions, you will probably not be able to convert that range to LP gas. Some ranges cannot be converted. I did not see an LP conversion kit listed in the parts for that range.

Q:

Thanks Jimmy K. for your response but the mower is brand new. It is a model 917.376470.

A:

I saw your mower is a 2008 model. We have no way of knowing if the mowers are used all day everyday or once a week. If the mower has done this from the start, one or some of the bolts that hold the handle bracket (item 40 in the parts list) might have been left loose at the assembly line.

I suspect you will find something simple to repair the mower.

If you want to replace the rear wheels with smaller ones, go to www.searspartsdirect.com and look at the parts diagram for a model 917.376440. Order 2 each items 30, 32, 35, and 27. Order 1 each item 39 and 40.

This will give you the parts you need to convert your mower to the smaller rear wheels.

If the mower is less than 2 years old, I recommend you take it to a Sears Parts and Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair.
