Q:

i have a craftsman lt 1000 riding lawn tractor. 17 horse industrial commercial briggs and straten. model 310707 - type 137-ei or e1 (code 011213ze).

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. I recommend choking the engine when it is surging. If the engine smoothes out, when you apply the choke the problem is likely in the carburetor. To cure the problem the carburetor has to be cleaned or replaced. You will need a thin wire and carb cleaner to flush out the passages. Once you have that click on this link to be taken to the instructions for cleaning the carburetor.

Please make sure you are working in a well-ventilated area and use caution when working around gasoline.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the tractor.

Q:

What is an E1 error?

A:

Your digital display should have shown a F1 and not an E1 error code. F1 indicates a primary control failure. Meaning the machine control board will need to be replaced. I recommend calling a service technician to repair your dryer.
