Q:

KENMORE ELETE CATALYST WASHER MODEL # 110.2009691 BOUGHT 01/30/2000

A:

That model number appears to be slightly off. That may be why you were not able to access the manual. The model number is probably 110.20096991. Here is a link for that manual: Kenmore Elite Catalyst Washer 110.20096991 Owner's Manual .

Your spin failure could be caused by problem with the clutch or the basket drive. Since you indicated that the washer agitates, the motor drive coupler is probably okay. If you are not positive that the agitator is moving in the agitate mode (even though the motor is running in the agitation mode) then I recommend that you check that issue. If the agitator does not move and the basket does not spin, then that motor coupler is probably broken. Here is a video that shows how to replace that motor coupler. You can order that part from this page: Kenmore Elite Catalyst Washer 110.20096991 Motor Coupler . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

If the agitiator is moving properly, then you may need to access and check the clutch assembly. Here is a video that shows how to access and replace the clutch assembly. You can order a clutch kit from this page: Complete Clutch Assembly for Kenmore Elite Catalyst Washer 110.20096991 .

A failure in the transmission or the basket drive could also prevent the washer from spinning even though it would agitate.

These initial tips may help you resolve this spin failure in your washer. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Q:

how to light the pilot light on the dryer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your dryer does not have a pilot to light. It uses a glow bar igniter that glows red hot to ignite the burner once the gas valve opens.

There could be one of many reasons why your dryer is not heating:

  • Faulty thermal fuse
  • Thermistor could be out of specifications
  • High limit thermostat
  • Flame sensor
  • Ignitor
  • Heat relay
  • Evenheat control board inside the console

This type of should be diagnosed and repaired by a service technician. He will need to test each component connected in series between the heat relay and the gas valve assembly as well at the heater relay and thermistor. I added an image below intended for the service technician that will aide in diagnosing the failure. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing the dryer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

We purchased a 30" gas freestanding LG double oven which was delivered on 2/23/13.

A:

I am not aware of any problems or common issues with that model of LG double oven. You are probably correct about the noise being caused by metal contracting. Since the oven is brand new, you may consider having a service technician examine it. The technician can check for any potential problems while the oven is still under warranty.

A:

Based on your description, I recommend that you have a service technician examine the range under the warranty. Based on that recommendation, you should not be charged for service if the technician finds that the noise is normal and nothing is wrong. Let the phone agent know that we recommended the service call and the will set up the warranty service. You should not have to worry that you will be charged anything based on my recommendation. If you need more help, let me know.
