Question and Answers

Q:

maytag dryer mde2400ayw

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "E3" error code implies a door circuit failure. Check for a faulty door switch or faulty door circuit failure. To access the control and door switch; disconnect the power cord from the power source and then remove the two screws along the back of the top and remove top. I added a couple of images below with the basic instructions on how to access the door switch and control board.

Q:

What does F1 E3 mean on my Kenmore range?

A:

The F1 E3 error code indicates that the electronic range control (ERC) does not know if it is a gas or electric range. A portion of the ERC has failed and the ERC will need to be replaced.

Q:

What does E3 F1 mean on my Kenmore oven?

A:

Without a model number for your Kenmore range, I cannot provide specific information about the fault code on your range. I have general fault code information for all of the different types of Kenmore ranges. The only E3 F1 error code that appears in my technical information for Kenmore ovens and ranges indicates that this error code indicates a Fuel Type Failure. The control board on the Kenmore ranges and ovens that use this error code can detect whether the control board programming is set for electric (E) or gas (9). The troubleshooting for this failure is to unplug the range or shut off the breaker to completely kill power for 30 seconds. After powering the unit back up, hold the CANCEL and START/ENTER keys for 5 seconds. You should see "E" for electric or "9" for gas. If you have an electric range and the "9" is showing for gas, then the electronic oven control board will likely need to be replaced. The opposite is true if you have a gas range or oven.

If you kill the power and the correct designation comes up after restoring power and pressing the designated keys then the range may resume normal operation and could be okay. If the E3 F1 error code returns, then you will likely need to replace the electronic oven control board.

If you need more help with this problem, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore range or oven.
