Q:

Workmaster aluminum ladder doesn't slide up and down easily

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the ladder. On most extension ladders, they have brackets riveted to one side of the rails to keep the two parts together. Often times those bracket hit the rungs as you pull the rope. I recommend watching the brackets as you pull the rope. If they hit as it goes up inspect the rivet to be sure they are tight. If they are fine, you can try adjusting the brackets with a flat tip screwdriver if they are bent. If they more than slightly bent, I recommend taking the unit into a ladder repair shop. They will replace the brackets and do a safety test on it. If the brackets are fine and the ladder is just binding, I recommend cleaning the old lubricant from the rails. Then test the operation. What can happen is the lube will attract dirt and cause the rails to bind. If it still does not work as it should you can try a dry lube on the rails. The dry lube will keep the rails from collecting dirt.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
