Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't my oven heat up higher than 260 degrees?

A:

Without knowing the model number of your range and additional details I can only provide general information. It could be a thermostat, oven temperature sensor probe, oven control board failure, burnt wire connection, weak oven ignitor or a failed bake or broil element.

I recommend resubmitting your question with the model number and additional details for model specific information.

Q:

What type of oil do I need to change the oil in my Craftsman 12.5 hp 6 speed, 38" deck.

A:

The model number you sent is for the engine. The model number of the mower is under the seat. The information you sent is all we need to answer your question, but if you ever need parts you need the model number of the mower.

The engine in your riding mower is 30 weight motor oil. Use a name brand good quality oil and it will be fine.

Q:

Why won't my Kenmore range temperature exceed 260 degrees?

A:

Without knowing the model number of your range I will not be able to provide any specific information. Generally speaking, when I hear this type of symptom I must assume that it is a gas range. If the failure is not a thermostat issue, the likely cause of your symptom is a weak oven igniter. If the igniter does not pull enough current the gas valve will not open.

Resubmit your question with the model number for model specific information.
