I understand that the light on your refrigerator is not working. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I'm sorry you are having this problem. You have received some good information about the door switch. Now, if the bulb has been replaced and the wires on the switch have been connected together, it will only leave the light socket or a possible broken or loose wire as the problem. There is no fuse in this circuit. I recommend disconnecting the power to the unit and pry the light socket out. It's held in place with tabs. With the socket out, check the wires and connections. If the wires are ok, leave the bulb in the socket and reconnect power to the unit. Be very careful and check the voltage on the 2 wires on the socket. If there is 120 volts there but the light will not work, replace the socket # 241513901. If there is no voltage there, it will indicate a possible broken wire. A technician will be needed to make this type of check and determine if it's repairable.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Safety Notice: Be sure to disconnect the appliance before performing any troubleshooting procedures. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks or repairs that might be recommended, please contact a local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
