Question and Answers

Q:

mod 247887330 33'' mower 247887330 Craftsman 33" wide cut mower

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. If the transaxle will not stay in gear when you engage the drive, I suspect the problem is in the transaxle. The transaxle has a spring and ball that should press against the holes in internal shift fork. If the ball is missing or seized it may allow the shifter to move easily.  I found an answer that describes how to access the spring and ball. Click here to be taken to that answer. If this does not help I recommend replacing the shift fork or the transaxle. Replacing the shift fork can be a difficult repair.

Q:

I have a loose blade drive belt on my model 247887330 riding mower. It is brand new. Is there a tension adjustment for this belt?

A:

There is no tension adjustment for the blade drive belt. I suspect you have a loose spring on the deck that is not moving the idler pulleys into position.

I recommend you schedule service and get a technician to repair the mower for you.
