Craftsman Front Tine Tiller--Model No. 247-29934- Clutch problems

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with your new tiller. Usually when I see this, it is because the belt is not routed correctly. If you are willing and feel comfortable removing the belt cover, you can check the belt routing. I completely understand if you would rather have the problem repaired by a service technician. Start by removing the spark plug wire. We do not need the engine accidentally starting. I have provided you with the instructions below for removing the cover to check the belt. Please compare the belt routing to the image below. If the routing seems to be right, I recommend moving the idler back and forth to make sure it is moving freely. Then reinstall the cover and test the operation. If the tiller is still not working properly, please call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule service.

I hope this is helpful.
