A:

Thank you for your question on the filters for the down draft vents system.

There are a couple of supports and the come in contact with them and they just sit on the chimney channel, and gravity holds them there.

I hope this information will help.

Q:

downdraft model 2335994690 motor running not blowing how to troubleshoot

A:

If those grease filters on the unit have not been cleaned recently, you may need to clean those filters and then see if the air flow improves. You can also check the exhaust air duct system to the outside of your home for a clog or restriction. Here is a link for the owner's manual/installation guide that will help you with those tasks: Owner's Manual . Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the range hood before accessing internal components.

If those tips don't help, then you could have a problem with the fan even though the motor is running. I recommend that you have a service technician access and examine the internal components of this range hood. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you want to troubleshoot and repair this problem yourself, reply with additional details and we will provide more access information and technical assistance.

Q:

How do I replace the gear motor on my Kenmore downdraft blower for my cooktop (model 2335994690)?

A:

To replace the gear motor you will need to remove the cooktop from the cabinet. With the cooktop removed and the power disconnected remove the blower motor and outer panel from the hood.

This will let you access the gear motor. I am sending you some images that might help.
