Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Proform XP 680 treadmill walking belt stopping?

A:

I recommend checking the belt tension. You may try loosening the belt by turning both rear belt roller bolts counterclockwise 1/4 turn. If you continue to have a problem, you could have a motor problem. I recommend calling a technician to diagnose and repair the treadmill.

Q:

Can you help on a slipping problem with Proform 680 Crosstrainer treadmill?

A:

I think you should replace the drive belt on the treadmill and adjust the new belt properly.

When you can twist the drive belt 1/4 turn with your fingers, the belt tension is correct.

Q:

No key slot on Pro-Form XP 680 Crosstrainer

A:

The indention that you are describing is circled in red on the second image below. The key for this model of treadmill is shown in the first image. It is not a normal key that goes into a deep slot like most treadmills have. The safety key will fit in that indention. I recommend that you look for that type of key. If you cannot find the key, you can order a replacement one from this page: Safety Key/Rope Assembly for ProForm XP 680 Crosstrainer Treadmill Model 831.246460 .

Once you insert that safety key, the console should work normally. If you need more help, let us know.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the treadmill, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
