Q:

3 1/2 ton Craftsman Professional Floor Jack 21450145 Craftsman Floor jack

A:

Thank you for your question on the floor jack not working to full capacity and then after purging it not working at all.

It sounds like you still have air in then pump and that it was a little short of oil.

I would suggest opening the on/off valve until it seeps air out with the ram down.

If it does not seep any air then I would lay the unit on its side and remove the rubber plug on the side of the ram housing and add some hydraulic jack oil to the ram body. Be very careful not to get any dirt in the fill hole. Then put the plug back in and purge the jack again.

Please let me know how it turned out.

Thank you for the update Chad. Most of the jacks that I am familiar with have the rubber plug on the side of the cylinder. If the plug is at the top then please position the opening with where the plug would be in the up position so when you remove the plug no oil will spill out. You can then add a little jack oil to see if that will help you issue. Sam A.
