Q:

Problems with washer Kenmore #2130

A:

Hi, Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function as we expect them to.

This washer is a lot different than what most of us are used to. This washer takes a lot longer to start and go though cycles than older versions. Here is a link to the owners’ manual for this model: Owners’ Manual .

I am including an image below that describes the proper loading procedures and fill levels. This washer will have a hard time with light bulky items such as pillows. There is not anyway that you can add water to cycles.

Your description does not sound like this washer is failing. I really feel like this may be more of an issue with not understanding the use of this washer as described in the manual. Please read the manual and the other information I am including.

I would normally advise customers to have a service technician evaluate issues such as this, but I noticed that you are out of the country.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Hi Hazel,

You did not provide me with a model number, so I will assume you have a washer similar to a 110.21302010.

The first thing I recommend is checking for error codes. The error codes are extremely important in the diagnosis of this type of washer. This washer has a way to recall error codes. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.

Kenmore washer #2130 problem

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There is no reset procedure and it would be very unusual for the control to go haywire.

Since the washer is under warranty you will need to have it diagnosed at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
