Q:

What battery is used in a Montgomery Ward riding lawn mower Model TMO-34500D?

A:

You need to take your battery to a Sears Auto Store or an auto parts store and find one that will mount. One that has the terminals on the same side, and is close to the same cold cranking amps.

We don't have a way to cross Montgomery Ward part numbers to Sears part numbers.

Q:

What battery is used in a Montgomery Ward riding lawn mower Model TMO-34500D? It is a 5 h.p 206 CC.

A:

I apologize for assuming you had a battery in the mower.

Measure the base pan the battery sets in. You need a physical size to shop for. Get a general idea of the clearance you have for the height of the battery. Make a drawing and put these dimensions down for the shopping. On the drawing make note of which end of the battery the red (positive) and black (negative) terminals need to be on.

Go to a Sears, Walmart, or almost any auto parts store and buy a battery with no less than 60 cold cranking amps that will fit the specifications you wrote down.

Hope this helps.

Q:

My washer 110 206 22 991 will fill up wash but will not drain nor spin. I have checked the hose . How can I tell if it's the safty lid switch causing the issue?

A:

Thank you for your question.

By what you have stated, it sounds like a lid switch failure. The lid has to be closed for the motor to run and drain the washer. If the lid switch is faulty, it will act as if the lid is open. A quick check you can do is to run a cycle with the lid switch jumped. If the washer operates, the lid switch needs to be replaced.

To jump the lid switch you need to unplug the washer and open the console. I have provided you with the instructions for opening the console below. Once you have the console open, locate the connector for the lid switch. Place an insulated jumper between the gray and white wires. Not the green it is a ground and will cause a short. After inserting the jumper make sure it will not touch anything metal, plug the washer in. Then start the washer in a cycle, and let it go. If the washer completes the cycle, you need to replace the lid switch. Do not leave the jumper in while you are waiting for the part. The jumper is only of the test.

To you replace the lid switch you have to remove the cabinet of the washer. The instructions for that are also in the image below. Once the cabinet is removed you can take the screws out securing the lid switch and remove the harness from the clips along the underside of the cabinet. Then reinstall the lid switch in the reverse order. Before you reassemble the cabinet, please read the instructions for installing the cabinet provided in the image.

I have found a video that I think might give you more confidence on replacing the lid switch. Please click here to watch the video
