Question and Answers

Q:

6 1/2 Jointer/Planer

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to have the owner's instruction manual for your Jointer/Planer.

I have e-mailed a copy to you.

If you want an original paper copy the you can order it.

The part number for the manual is: 67096 and you can purchase it from: Sears Parts Direct .

The manual is about $7.50 plus shipping.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

How do I Adjust 6 1/8 th inch jointer

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand not wanting to have a high spot on the boards.

Is this something that has just started or is the use of this very thin material on this project happened before?

I you are talking about 1/8 thick material I am surprised that is the only problem you are having.

Is the high spot near the ends of the board or in the middle?

I was first thinking that it was snipe on the ends of the boards but that isn't what it sounds like from your description, because a snipe is a divot in the wood as the board leaves the support of the in feed table.

Is it possible that the table adjustment is moving as you feed the material through?

If you have the blade height the same as the out feed table it should be okay. You can use a level and lay it on the out feed table and across the cutter head with the cutter should touching the lever but not holding the level off the out feed table.

If you will reply with a little more detail and the model number of the jointer I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

its flashing a code a 6 and a 1 , the problem is it wont do anything

A:

Hi Byron,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Without your model number I am only able to offer general suggestions. Typically a 6-1 error on Kenmore dishwashers indicates Low water level, siphoning, over-sudsing, or tripping of the Overfill Switch can all cause the dishwasher to cancel drain and shut down.

Check the following:

  1. Make sure the drain loop is on the side of the tub.
  2. Make sure the drain hose (loop) is a minimum of 20 inches high under the sink before it goes to the drain. If the drain hose is not a minimum of 20 inches high even with the drain loop on the side of the tub this could cause a siphon issue.
  3. Check for excessive sudsing which could be caused by pre-rinsing dishes with dishwashing soap like Dawn, etc…, a leaking Rinse Aid Dispenser, putting dishwashing detergent in the Rinse Aid Dispenser, using too much Rinse Aid and or too much detergent with soft water.
  4. Make sure the plastic Float on the inside of the dishwasher is not hanging up from either a burr on the plastic or from detergent and gunk build up, make sure the Float Switch terminal connections are secure, and there is nothing causing a wave action that could cause the float to lift up and trip the Float Switch.
  5. Make sure that the unit is installed correctly and level. #If bowls are turned up in the rack they can collect enough water to starve the pump and cause the error.

_NOTE: On some models the 6-1 Error Code = Motor Communication Error. So in order to give you accurate and complete information I will need your model number. The model number should be located inside the loading door or on the frame.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed for your Kenmore Elite dishwasher . Find your model number in the list at this link.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include your model number and more details in a reply to this post.

Byron,

The 6-1 error code on this type of dishwasher is a communications error. This can be: 1. Loose connections between control and motor. 2. Motor fuse open. Faulty wash motor or diverter motor. 3. The Neutral door switch not making contact consistently. A Faulty or sloppy door latch assembly that can be aggravated by high door closure force keeping strike plate from fully seating. Faulty door switch (high resistance). NOTE: Neutral switch on plastic tub models is only in series with motor and heater. Other loads are not affected.

I am including a portion of the tech sheet below that details the checks. You can run the diagnostics and reset the control; this may stop the error code from coming up. Try this and let me know if I may be of further assistance.
