Question and Answers

Q:

Maytag Series 2000 front loader

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I seen your response in the other thread and if the drain pump is not operating and humming; it could have a bad drain pump or it is jammed. You may have to disconnect the hose connecting the drain pump to the bottom of the tub and check for any further debris.

If the drain pump is humming then we know its getting the voltage supply and I would suspect it is jammed. If you remove the filter and cap assembly you can likely feel or see the pump impeller. If the impeller can be rotated with your fingers; I suspect a faulty drain pump. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source and remove the water from the basket before removing the drain pump filter.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

I need a manual sent to me via email of the Norge 2000 series/Signature

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The number (2000) is just the series number of the dryer and not the model number. The model number for the dryer should be located on the interior door or along the opening frame. Generally speaking; dryers do not have a RESET button. Dryers will have a non-resettable thermal fuse. If its gas dryer, the thermal fuse will be located on the blower housing or duct and if it's an electric dryer, the thermal fuse will be located near the heating element. The thermal fuse can be disconnected and test for continuity with an Ohm meter.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post along with the model number taken from the model and serial number tag.

Q:

I bought a Maytag front loading washing machine on 11/06/10. Its a 2000 series and it sounds like an airplane when its in the spin cycle.

Hi Vicki,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

I looked at your previous question and I agree with Joey. This is most likely an issue with the bearings. And, as Joey stated, we cannot look at specific information for your washer without the model number. The model number should be located inside the loading door or on the back panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
