Q:

Sewing machine 1914 - differences between models

A:

Thank you for your question on the difference on the sewing machine models.

The difference is the production period. They look like they all take the same parts. I do not see any difference in the features or stitch options.

The 158.19140 is 1975.

The 158.19141 is late 1975-1976.

The 158.19142 is late 1976-1977.

Please send another email and include the complete model number off the sewing machine. Replacing belts varies from model to model and I don't want to get you incorrect information.

Q:

kenmore sewing machine only sews at top speed

A:

Thank you for your question.

• The 1914 is referring to a part of the model number of 158.19141.

• Is it possible someone may have tried to repair a broken wire on the foot control? Or the fool control has internally failed and is not able to change the amount of voltage it uses to change the speeds. It is stuck in full speed mode.

• The foot control will have to be replaced.

• The part number for the foot control is: 033770114 for under $20.00 plus shipping.

• I have included the Sears Parts Direct for you to order this part.

• I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
