Question and Answers

Q:

What is an E1 error?

A:

Your digital display should have shown a F1 and not an E1 error code. F1 indicates a primary control failure. Meaning the machine control board will need to be replaced. I recommend calling a service technician to repair your dryer.

Q:

My 8hp Briggs lets compression through the carb when trying to start it.

A:

You need to check the valves when the piston is at top dead center of the compression stroke. You can see the valves to tell if there is any pressure at this position. If the valves are not totally relaxed when the piston is at the top and the magnets on the flywheel are at the ignition module, the gear on the cam shaft might have spun on the shaft.

If you did grind the intake valve you must have removed the head. Were the valve seats ok? Did you look at the wear marks on the seats to see if they were uniform? Did you grind the seats?

Send another email with answers to these questions and we will try to help.
