Question and Answers

Q:

Model 17AK9TKR099 How do I remove the electric clutch? 17AK9TKR099 Mtd Tractor

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If there is enough wire in order to splice the wires together, then that's what I would do. I would use a pair of plastic wire nuts to connect the wires or if there is not enough wire, you may need to solder the wires back together. If you're not able to spice the wires back because the wires are broken to close to the clutch, the clutch will need to be replaced.

I added a video showing the basic procedure of removing the clutch. You will need to remove the large bolt in the bottom center and there will likely be a couple of other bolts to remove before the clutch can be taken off.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Lawn tractor Model 17AK9TKR099 deck spindle #1.

A:

Thank you for your question on the blade spindle assembly wobbling.

No, it is not normal for the blade or spindle to wobble.

I would first replace the mower blades incase they impacted something and is now bent. If that does not solve the problem I would suggest replacing the blade mandrel assembly for that side. Remember that this mower deck has timed blade and you will set the timing with one that is horizantal and the other one vertical when timing the blades.

If you need more information please let me know.

Q:

Removing Electric Clutch from Model 17AK9TKR099 Craftsman Revolution lawn tractor.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Generally an impact wrench is needed to remove/install the bolt. If you do not have an impact wrench, you will have to hold the pulley from turning with a pair of channel lock pliers or vice grips to prevent the pulley from turning.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
