Q:

Kenmore sewing machine 15812312, need to know adjustment & how to thread this machine

A:

Thank you for your request for threading your sewing machine.

I am sorry that we no longer have the manual for this machine available.

I did find a web site that has both the threading procedure and the manual available.

The owner's manual you can purchase from them for a small fee.

Threading Machine .

Sewing machine manual .

Please let me know as to which adjustment you need instructions on.

Q:

how do i get the reverse lever to release 15812312 Kenmore Kenmore sewing machine

A:

Unplug the sewing machine and lubricate all of the parts for the reverse stitch mechanism with some silicone spray or WD-40. You may have a lever or linkage that bound up. Lubricating the parts may free up the lever or linkage. If you free up the parts, lubricate them with sewing machine oil.

If that doesn't help, look for a broken spring in the feed regulator and reverse stitch systems. A broken spring could be preventing the mechanisms from returning to forward motion.

I hope that this information helps.

If you need further assistance, let us know.

Q:

blind hem stitch foot for a vertical kenmore

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to have the instructions for using a blind hem foot.

I am not sure that you have the correct blind hem for your model 158.12312.

This machine is a Low bar center needle position and a vertical shuttle.

The part number I have listed is: 6885.

I think the one you purchased is snap on foot and I am sure that is not what your machine uses. This foot does not have the shank to mount to the machine.

If you have more questions please reply.

I hope this will help.

A:

Thank you for the update. I was concerned that you got the wrong foot. If your machine has the blind hem stitch, it will look like a straight line and then one zig zag to the left and then another straight line. The machine will do about four straight stitches in a row and then one zigzag and then four straight stitches again and then repeat. I have been trying to find a manual to look at so I can tell you which dial settings to use. But I haven't found one yet. I do not have a close up picture of the controls on your machine to look at. Would it be possible to send me a close up picture of the front of your machine? If you cannot figure out the correct settings for blind hem please reply. Sam A.

Thank you for the pictures. I am sorry but I cannot see where your machine has the blind hem feature. If you owner's manual does not referrence this stritch then you do not have it available. I still cannot see the front controls very well but from the information I have found it is not a feature this model had. Sam A.
