Question and Answers

Q:

how to change a side plate on my sears kenore sewing machine

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to replace this cover yourself.

You should not have to take any wheels off to replace the side belt cover on this machine.

You will need to remove the two screws on the top cover and this will expose the two screws for the side cover. The bottom of the side cover has hooks that will attach to the chassis of the machine.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for the up date. I think you are referring to the hand wheel. There is a screw on the hand wheel lock you will need to remove and then you can unscrew the hand wheel and remove the ring. Make sure you take the lock wheel off slowly and notice the direction the lock position ring is so you can put it back on the same way. Once you have the hand wheel lock removed you can roll the belt off the hand wheel and remove the hand wheel. Then you should be able to remove the side cover. When you return the three tab ring to the hand wheel, the direction and the position of the ring is critical to have the lock work correctly to lock and unlock the hand wheel for sewing and bobbin winding. I hope this will help. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
