Question and Answers

Q:

I need instructions on programming the garage door opener remote for kit 53682. How do I do that?

A:

I am sending you the instructions for programming the remote to the receiver of the 53682 kit.

I think what you read is the remote control can be programmed to operate up to 3 garage door openers. This would be if the openers have an electronic control or a 53682 kit has been installed.

You would press and hold the button on the remote you want to use to operate the second and third door then press the learn button on the opener. Hold the button on the remote until the led flashes on the second and third door.

The flashes of the led indicate the control has learned the code.

Q:

SEARS 139655000 garage door opener REMOTE not working

A:

The remote on this model of garage door opener should have code switches (also called DIP switches). You will need to follow the instructions shown below to make sure that the switches on the remote match the switches on the receiver for the garage door opener. Here is a link for an owner's manual that should be valid for your model of garage door opener: Owner's Manual . If you verify that the remote and the receiver code switches are set properly but the garage door remote still does not work, then you could have a failed remote or a bad control board on the garage door opener.

Due to the age of this garage door opener, if the remote will not work then I recommend that you consider replacing the garage door opener with a new one.

Q:

I have a garage door opener #139655000, and I need a wiring diagram. In replacing the belt, a yellow wire accidentally came loose, and I don't recall where it

A:

Thank you for your question on the wiring of the opener.

I do not have a diagram but if I remember correctly this was a four wire unit on the outside. Red, White, Black, Yellow and the yellow wire went to the wall control and what ever number the yellow is on for the wall control connection will be the same on the motor unit connection. I think it was on #4.

This is a very old unit and there is little information to be had.

Please let me know if that information helped you.

Sam A.
