Q:

Have Problem with 139.53985DM Garage Door Opener 13953985DM Craftsman Garage door opener

A:

I recommend that you have the trolley attached to the open door when you test the sensors. Your details seem to indicate that the sensors are blocked or that they are not compatible with the new motor unit. You should not have to replace the wiring if that wire is still good. Replace the sensors with the new ones and line them up properly. See if the garage door opener works with the new sensors installed.

Q:

My 6 month old garage door opener stops and starts working sporadically. There are no faults shown. Any ideas?

A:

I don't think the logic board is causing your problem. It sounds like a connection is not tight and when you assemble the motor unit, it puts that connection in a bind.

Be sure the logic board is plugged in firmly. Disconnect the power to the garage door opener and remove the outer cover. Disconnect and remove the logic board. Remove the terminal board the logic board plugs into. Look closely at the terminals inside the is board to see if a wire is not secured good or a terminal is backing out of the connector.

If you don't find anything there I suggest you schedule service and get a technician the diagnose the problem.

Q:

Problem with "one button close" from keypad 13953985DM Craftsman Garage door opener

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your details you have tried everything there is to do short of replacing the keyless entry and/or logic board.

The failure could be the keyless entry pad or it could be logic board in the garage door opener. If the unit is less than 2 years old, the parts are covered under the 2 year warranty but you would be responsible for the labor charge. I recommend calling Sears and have a technician diagnose which one is faulty.
