Question and Answers

Q:

Remote loses code 13953650SRT Craftsman Craftsman garage door opener

A:

Reset the logic control board in the motor unit by unplugging the garage door opener for 5 minutes. Program the remotes and see if they continue to work. If not, I recommend that you try changing the batteries in all of the remotes and the wireless keypad. This may fix your problem. If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

I have a GD opener model 13953650SRT and want to control the light with my 3 function remote model 139.53879. Is this possible?

A:

You can't program the 3 function remote to turn the light on the garage door opener on without opening the door.

You can buy a plug in light the three function remote will turn on. The part number of the smart-light is 53786, and the cost is around $35.00.

Q:

Door opener 13953650SRT makes a humming sound and chain does not move. I have tried to make adjustemnts. Eyes are aligned (Green) Can you help?

A:

Pull the emergency release and see if the door will open manually with relative ease. If the door is bound up or jammed, it will cause this problem.

If the door opens smoothly, check to see if the chain and trolley will move properly with the release still pulled down so that the door is not connected to the trolley. If the trolley moves properly when it is disconnected from the door, then you may need to adjust the upward force on the motor unit.

These tips may help you resolve this garage door opener problem. You can use the manual provided by Alina F. in the above response if needed for this troubleshooting.
