Question and Answers

Q:

logic board 13953648SRT2 Craftsman Craftsman garage door opener

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There is not a fuse on the logic board. Based on your details, the logic board will need to be replaced. When it shorted, it caused the board to fail.

The logic board is part #41A315-6G which can be ordered from SearsPartsDirect.com

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the garage door opener before servicing.

I hope this helpful.

Q:

I need advice about installing a garage door gear and sprocket assembly. Will you help?

A:

The problem when garage door opener gears wear quickly is usually the door is too hard to open or close. The gears only go in one way, and there is no adjustment that might add to wear.

With the garage door closed, pull the emergency release rope on the trolley. Lift the door by hand to the half open position and turn it loose. If the door stays half open the door is balanced and the springs are working fine. If the door either opens or closes the springs need adjusting or replacing.

You should be able to lift the door easily with one hand. If you can't a spring is broken or some thing is binding in the door assembly. The repair of the door will require someone who repairs garage doors.

The only mistake I think the repairman who installed the gears might have made is in not advising you about the door needing repair. I feel sure you will notice some binding or something in the travel of the door.

Q:

Garage opener unit # 13953648SRT2 1998 model # 41A4315-7D . What Remote Control work with this Garage opener unit ?

A:

Thank you for your question on which remote control to work with this opener.

If this is a 1998 model then I would say that the billion code blue button remote 53681 will work. If it is older than that then it would be the grey button remote 53879.

To get around any confusion of which remote to use just order the 30498 which is backward compatible all the way but not including the dip switch models.

I hope this will help.

Sam A.
