Question and Answers

Q:

rocker switch substitute not working . 137248880 Craftsman Table saw

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I was not able to locate a wiring diagram for your table saw or the original switch.

Since your old switch had 4 terminals and the new only has two, you will need to connect the two same colored wires to the switch. The other two wires will need to be joined together with a twist on wire nut. If you connect a black and white to the switch, it is a direct short and will trip the breaker when the switch is turned on.

Since your old switch had 4 terminals and the new switch has only 2 terminals, connect the two same colored wires to the two terminals on the new switch. The two other remaining wires will need to be connected together with a wire nut.
