Lazer 137212370 Craftsman Compound miter saw

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the laser not indicating the cutting line. I know how frustrating that is.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn’t specify any adjustments for this laser. The manual states not to open or make any repairs to the laser to prevent injury.

My 12" Craftsman also had a misaligned laser (it was parallel, but 3/16" away from the actual blade's cut). Near where the laser is on the blade guard there were some black plastic caps/plugs that explicitly had a label which said do not remove. I removed them and with a Phillips head screwdriver was able to adjust the laser to satisfactory adjustment and didn't mess anything up. My saw is now projecting a laser parallel to the blade, square/perpendicular to the stock and accurate within 1/64" of the blade's cut. This would also be a great time to check to see if your blade is square horizontally and vertically and make any adjustments per your user manual. I can't say that'd I'd rely on the laser 100%, but at the end of the day, it's infinitely more useful now compared to before. It doesn't replace bringing the blade down on the stock and checking the accuracy of the cut, but it's perfect for ball parking or if you don't need ridiculously precise tolerances. As always, measure twice, cut once.

If you are not able to manually adjust the laser, a replacement may be called for. The part number for the replacement is 2F7P.

I hope this helps and thanks for using We appreciate your business.
