Question and Answers

Q:

Transaxle oil for a Sears Zero Turn mower model # 12728875.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. If you live in a colder climate, it should be ok but it still gets in the 90s in the summer. The proper thing to do is to drain the oil and refill it with 10W-30. This will ensure you do not have a problem with the transaxle in the summer.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please reply below with more details. .

Lee Olson,

If you live in Arizona, I recommend draining the oil and refill it with the oil recommended. Because of the high temperatures in Arizona, you may want to use synthetic oil. The synthetic will not break down as fast as conventional oil.

Please let me know if you need further assistance. Mark.

A:

AltonILL, If the manual recommends using 20W-50 motor oil, you can use any motor oil that is this weight. If it were my mower, I would use full synthetic motor oil. This oil holds up better to extreme conditions. You should be able to find this oil at most automotive parts stores. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
