Q:

Electrolux Oven Poor Temp Control

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

When you use an oven thermometer in the oven, make sure it's not near the floor or ceiling and also give the range plenty of time to reach the operating temperature. Note: The oven temperature will be slightly lower than selected when using the convection bake.

The broil element (upper) and bake element (hidden) should measure between 14-19 Ohms. I added an image below of the RTD scale of the oven temperature sensor probes. At room temperature of 75 plus or minus 2.5 degrees, the sensor should measure 1091 Ohms plus or minus 5.3 Ohms.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Electrolux Upper Oven Won't Heat Up

A:

The wiring diagram for your range is shown in the image below with the circuit for those upper elements traced in the wire colors that they use. I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the range and check the continuity through that thermal circuit breaker. There is a possibility that you can detect voltage through both sides of that thermal circuit breaker even though it is "open" depending on the method that you are using to check that voltage. You should measure near zero ohms (continuity) through that thermal circuit breaker if it is okay. If you find continuity through that thermal circuit breaker, then you will probably need to replace that relay control board. You indicated that you already checked the wiring integrity through the elements. Those individual relays on that control board cannot be replaced on their own. The entire relay control board will need to be replaced. The part number for that relay control board is 316443916. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a direct link for that part: Control .

Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the range before accessing and replacing internal components.

I hope that these tips help you resolve this problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Hello Stevo. The upper broil element should measure around 17 ohms. The bake element should measure about 23 ohms. I provided a temperature/resistance chart for that oven temperature sensor probe in the image below. You are correct in assuming that the upper probe is for the upper main oven. That probe is connected to the electronic oven control board in the console through the violet wires. I recommend that you shut off electrical power to the range and check the resistance through that entire sensor circuit from the control board in the console. That probes should measure around 1091 ohms at 75 degrees. If the probe is okay, you could have a problem with that electronic oven control board. It is less likely that you have a failure in that relay control board based on your current details. That relay board appears to be working properly based on your description. When measuring oven temperature, the normal method of measurement is to preheat the oven and allow it to cycle at least 5 times after preheating. You can then take an average temperature reading over a 10 minute period to determine the actual temperature being maintained in the oven cavity. I hope that this additional information helps. If you need more assistance, let us know.
