Rotisserie sputters after several minutes 11916161210 Kenmore Elite Gas grill

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. If this happens only to the rotisserie burner, it is likely related to the flame sensor. The flame sensor is a copper tube and it senses if the burner is lit. Check copper tube for any kinks that could be blocking the heat from getting back to the sensor. Replace if any found.

If it does not detect a flame, the burner will shut off and it could make sputtering or a quick burst of flame if it attempts to re-open after it begins to shut the flame off. Per the troubleshooting information in your manual it says to "continue to press the burner control knob for 10 seconds after the burner ignites to activate the flame sensor."

I hope this helpful.
