Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Kenmore vacuum model 11636932502. The brushes don't turn. What can cause this?

A:

Your vacuum does not have a belt to turn the roller brush. There is a motor inside the brush that turns it.

There are some safety switches on the vacuum that stops the roller brush from turning when you tilt the vacuum or set it on bare floors.

I recommend you take the vacuum to a Sears Parts and Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Model #11636932502 Upright vacuum. There is a clog I can't find. works fine with attachments does not pick up when vacuuming.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to get the vacuum unclogged.

There is a short flexible hose that the dust travels through to get to the extension hose and it must be plugged.

  • Release the handle and flip the vacuum upside down and remove all the 10 screws that hold the base plate on.

  • Once removed locate the short hose that the dirt travels up and clean. You can remove the extension hose from the top side to gain access from both ends.

I have given you a picture below to illustrate the removal of the base plate.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

The Sears part number 82912 filter has 2 holes in it. The lower hole is covered with a cap, item 24 in the parts diagram. I apologize for any bad experience you have had with Sears in the past.
