Q:

Craftsman table circular saw #113298843: Tthe adjusment shaft assembly #62129 (rip fence) will not engage for adjustment. The diagram doesn't show

A:

Thank you for your questions on the newly acquired saws.

On the table saw I think you are talking about the fine adjustment wheel for moving the fence back and forth.

Either the teeth are worn out and do not engage in with the teeth on the rack fence rail or the plunger of in the fence tee is seized and will not move forward and engage.

If this is not what you are referring to please let me know.

On the Radial arm saw not being able to release the bevel it also may be that the previous person did not use the bevel and it is seized up.

Look at the instruction below for the bevel lock adjustments and you may have to loosen the nut in the back to get it to free up.

If you will reference the second picture it shows the index pin that has to move out to release the bevel. In some cases this pin# 11 will seize up in the index hole and or the spring # 13 release will break and not pull the pin out to release the bevel.

Be very careful if you remove the carrier bolt because if the spring is not broken with can break very easily, and it is no longer available for replacement.

If you cannot get the bevel lock to release I would remove the carrier not from the back and pull the whole yoke housing out the front and then remove the screws that hold the cover for the release.

Please let me know what you find out and we can continue to troubleshoot with this information.
