Question and Answers

burner doesn't light on gas dryer it's a kenmore gas dryer model#110-97310100 serial#mc5109178

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order for the burner to ignite the glow bar igniter must glow red. In order to see and monitor the glow bar igniter you will need to remove the small plastic square inspection hole cover by prying it off. The inspection cover is located below the dryer door on the face of the front panel. Start the dryer and look through the opening to see if the igniter glows red or not. If you find the glow bar igniter glowing red and then fading off with out any burner ignition then the two solenoid coils mounted on the gas valve will need to be replaced. If the glow bar igniter is not glowing it will need to be tested for continuity with an ohm meter. If the glow bar igniter tests Okay then the components connected in a series circuit between the timer and burner assembly will need to be disconnected and tested for continuity.

I added a YouTube video showing how to test the igniter and I also added a YouTube video on how to access and replace the igniter if you find it faulty. I added a YouTube video showing how to replace the solenoid coils if you find the igniter glowing red and then fading off without any burner ignition. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your dryer.
