diy repair manual #787206L

A:

To remove the heating element in your dryer view the basic instructions in the image I added below:

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the power source.
  2. Remove the lower rear panel (key#5).
  3. Look above the heater housing and remove the 1/4" hex screw (key#3) securing the heater housing to the rear bulkhead. Make a note how the little metal bracket/strap spring (key#4) is position before removing. Raise the top. See instructions below in the image to get a better look and to make it easier to reinstall the heater housing strap spring (key#4).
  4. Disconnect the wires from the heating element (key#14).
  5. Disconnect the wires from the high limit (key#34) and thermo cutoff (key#1).
  6. Pull the top of the heater housing (key#5) towards you while wiggling on the top of the heater in order to disengage it from the bulkhead (key#17) where it press fits.
  7. Lift the heater house up in order to clear the bottom of where the heater sits and then pull the bottom of the heater housing towards you and then pull it down and out.
  8. Remove the one heating element retaining screw from the bottom of the heater housing.
  9. Pull and slide the heating element out from the heater housing.
  10. Reverse the procedure to replace and install the heater housing.
