Question and Answers

Q:

series 70 model 11096578120 dryer door switch

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand you concern. I must assume you have already diagnosed a faulty door switch.

The link Celene provided will apply to your model. I also added an image below showing how to remove the front panel; it may make it easier to access the door switch. You shouldn't need any other tools or parts other than a screw driver and the door switch. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before raising the top.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The push to start switch is not likely the failure. I recommend accessing and disconnecting the thermal fuse and testing it for continuity. The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing. You access the thermal fuse by removing the rear panel. The thermal fuse will have blue wires attached to it. NOTE: Be sure to unplug the dryer before removing the rear panel. You can test the thermal fuse for continuity with an ohm meter.
