Question and Answers

Q:

dryer flame stays lit about 4 seconds then turns off, then takes about 1 to 2 minutes to turn on again cloths take to long to dry if thick cloths are damp still

A:

That link for a previous answer provides some good advice for this type of failure. I recommend that you check the exhaust air path to the outside of your home for a clog or restriction. If that exhaust air path is clear, then you will probably need to replace the gas valve coils on that burner assembly. Here is a link for the gas valve coil kit that is described in that previous answer: Gas Valve Coil Kit for Kenmore Elite HE4 Dryer Model 110.95862401 . That kit will work on your HE4 dryer. Here is a video that shows how to replace the gas valve coils on a similar dryer to yours. On your dryer, you can remove the lower front access panel by removing the screws at the very bottom of that panel (with the dryer unplugged ).

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do you replace the front felt drum seal on a Kenmore dryer model 11095862401?

A:

The image below shows the disassembly instructions for a similar model of dryer. Unplug the dryer before accessing the internal components. Your dryer may be slightly different than the one shown below. The basic procedure is the same. You would need to remove the front panel to access the felt seal on the front of the drum. Remove the old seal. The new felt seal should have come with high temperature adhesive. Find the middle point of the new seal. Carefully glue the middle point to the drum. You will then need to carefully work the seal around the drum moving up both sides so that they meet at the opposite side of the middle point.

This is not any easy repair. It is easier for a technician that has installed one several times. If you are not completely confident that you can complete this repair properly, I recommend calling a service technician to install the felt seal.

Q:

i have an he4 kenmore dryer (#11095862401) which the bottom of the handle broke off. How do you remove the old handle to put the new one on.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order access the screws securing the door handle, you must first remove the 6 screws I have yellow arrows pointing to. (See image below) Once you have these 6 screws removed, separate the outer door from the inner door. You will now have access to the door handle screws.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
