Question and Answers

dryer blowing cold air 11095087401 Kenmore Elite Dryer gas

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There could be one out many possible reasons/failures preventing the dryer from heating. I would not be able to recommend any part at this time without addition information. It could have a faulty electronic control, thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, flame sensor, glow bar igniter, solenoid coils or possibly a faulty motor centrifugal switch.

Remove the front lower access panel and then start the dryer and watch to see if the glow bar igniter glows or not. If you find the glow bar igniter glowing and then fading off without burner ignition, the two solenoids mounted on the gas valve should be replaced.

If the glow bar igniter will not glow, the first component to check for continuity is the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse will have two red wires attached. The thermal fuse is located behind the front lower access panel and the thermal fuse is mounted on the top side of the blower wheel housing. The thermal fuse can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. If the thermal fuse measures continuity, the thermal fuse is Okay. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel.

The glow bar igniter will then need to be disconnected and tested for continuity and the flame sensor. If the igniter and flame switch measure continuity, then I would suspect a faulty electronic machine control board.

Once you have diagnosed the failure, you can look up and order parts

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
