Question and Answers

Q:

sears washing machine mod#11092284100 water temp switch

A:

Make sure that your water supply hoses are not switched (you may have already checked that).

That failure could be caused by the ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) board (part 3955728). Since you already replaced the temperature switch, that ATC board is the only other component in that system that will control the hot water valve. That wiring diagram for your washer is shown in the image below. It is on microfiche so the quality is poor but it is the best that we have. You can unplug the washer and check the wiring on that temperature switch. If the wiring is okay, then I recommend that you replace that ATC board. Based on your details, that will probably fix your problem. You can order that component from this page: ATC Microcomputer for Kenmore Washer 110.92284100 . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing and replacing internal components.

NOTE: That is an expensive component. If you have easy access to the hot water supply faucet, you can shut of that faucet off to run a cold water wash.

This information may help you fix that fill water problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Q:

My Kenmore washer #11092284100 is not spinning. It will agitate and drain. I hear a humming and clicking sound when it tries to go into the spin mode.

A:

Hi Steve,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing you will need to check is the wiring and connections on the motor. Here is a video that will demonstrate gaining access to the motor on a washer like yours; Video . Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. The washer in this video may not look exactly like yours but the procedure is basically the same.

After you check the wiring connections and put the washer back together try running a cycle. If the washer still will not spin, the remaining checks will require the use of a volt/ohm meter.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .
