Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore dryer seal?

A:

There is a rear felt seal on this dryer. It is part number 239087. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a link for a brief video that shows how to replace that felt seal: Video: Dryer Felt Seal Replacement . NOTE: The video advises you to allow 20 minutes for the adhesive to dry after installing the new seal. I recommend that you allow 8 hours for the adhesive to dryer before reassembling the dryer.

This should be the information that you need to complete this repair. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I did not find a manual available for that dryer. It appears to be a commercial model. The installation guide is no longer available as a replacement part through the Sears Parts system. There are no online documents available for that older model. Sorry that we can't help you with that manual. If you need anything else, let us know and we will try to help.

The part 279264 is shown as KEY 38 in the top parts drawing that I provided in the image below. That part is attached to the opening on the front panel. The bearing on the front of the dryer drum is part 3394508 (substituted from original part number 297936). That bearing is shown as KEY 62 in the bottom parts drawing. If you need more help, reply with additional details.
