Question and Answers

Pilot light

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your dryer does not have freestanding pilot flame to light. Your dryer uses an electronic glow bar igniter to ignite the burner. The glow bar igniter must glow red inorder for it to be okay. If it's not glowing then it could be broken or it may have a faulty operating thermostat, high limit thermostat or a flame sensor.

The glow bar igniter is accessible by removing the front lower access panel. I added a YouTube video showing how to test the igniter and a video showing how to replace the igntiter if it tests broken .

Note: Disconnect the power cord before servicing your dryer.

I added a YouTube video showing how to test the igniter and I also added a video showing how to access and replace the glow bar igniter.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
