Q:

Model #11082881100 - Kenmore Automatic washer cluncking noise during spin cycle

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Without being there to hear the noise it would be near impossible to say what's causing the clunking noise. It could be caused by an off balanced load, the clutch could be hitting the basket drive or it could be a loose spanner nut. Based on the age of your washer it may be advisable to replace the washer rather than having it repaired.

I highly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer if you would rather have it repaired.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Kenmore model 110.82881100 Will not spin but hums 11082881100 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the washer will operate in the agitation cycles, I would suspect it could have a faulty lid switch or a loose lid switch connection. If the motor hums in the agitatation cycle and hums in the drain and spin cycles; it could have a jammed drain pump.  If the drain pump is not jammed, check for a loose wire connection at the motor. The motor must get the start voltage and run voltages in order to start and run.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Herbert: It could be the motor bearings or it could have something in the drain pump or it could be the bearings/bushing in the tub support or basket drive. It could also have something stuck under the spin basket causing excessive friction. I would set the timer in spin without putting any water in the washer and see if will complete the spin cycle without shutting off. You can also remove the drain pump and check as well as removing the spin basket too if needed.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The instructions provided in the link provided will apply to your model even though the image of the agitator assembly is actually different in the parts image. The instructions in the link (How do I replace the agitator dogs on a Kenmore washer 110 23922200?) that Ron H. provided which was original answered by Scott D. will pertain to your type of agitator. I added the link below.

How do I replace the agitator dogs on a Kenmore washer 110 23922200?
