Question and Answers

Q:

How to install a Thermal Fuse? I have an 80 series Kenmore dryer. Model number #11074892401

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you with replacing the thermal fuse. First, unplug the dryer or turn the power off. Then follow the instructions in the image below. Once the front panel is removed, you can remove the air duct by taking out the lint screen and removing the screws securing the lint duct. After removing the duct, you have better access to the thermal fuse. Once you have the thermal fuse installed, reassemble the dryer, and check the operation.

If the dryer still does not heat, I can give you more checks to make. These checks are easier with a volt ohmmeter. If you would like to diagnose the problem yourself, please let me know.
