Question and Answers

Q:

Where can I find the wiring diagram for the timer in my Kenmore electric dryer model 11070882990?

A:

The wiring diagram for your dryer is shown in the first image below. The second image shows a diagram of the timer that was originally in the dryer. The substituted timer that you received should have the same contacts as the original timer even though they may be in a different location.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

Why does it take three (3) sixty (60) minute cycles to dry my clohtes?

A:

First, make sure the venting system is not restricted in any way. For testing purposes only disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer and dry one load. If the load of clothes dries in a normal amount of time would indicate a venting issue. NOTE: Do not leave the vent hose disconnected.

Below and left of the door is a small plastic square inspection hole plug. Remove the plastic cover and start the dryer. Visually watch the red glow of the igniter. You should see it glow bright red and then the gas valve will open the gas burner and ignite as the glow bar igniter fades back off. If you find the igniter glowing red and then fading back off without any burner ignition would indicate bad solenoid coils. The solenoid coils are mounted side by side on top of the gas valve and they will need to be replaced.

I added the theory of burner operation in the image below.
