Kenmore dryer model 11070602990

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the dyer. First check to make sure the gas is turned on to the dryer. Then remove the square plug on the front panel and start the dryer. If you look into the hole, you should see the ignitor glow. If you do not see the glow of the ignitor, unplug the dryer and remove the back panel. I have provided you with the instructions below for removing the back panel. Once removed you will be able to access the thermal fuse and the thermostat. Remove the at least one wire from the thermal fuse and ohm the terminals you should get a closed reading. If you get an open reading, the thermal fuse needs to be replaced. If you do not have a meter, you can tape the two wires of the thermal fuse together and check the operation. If the dryer heats you, need to replace the thermal fuse. Please do not use the dryer with the fuse bypassed this is only for test propose only. You can order the parts from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

If you need further assistance please reply below with more details and I will be happy to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If you do not have a meter that is ok. You can use the jumper wire to check most of the parts. I have provided you with an image below showing what you can jump. If it is in blue, use a jumper wire. If these checkout ok, you will need a meter to ohm the rest of the parts. Please let me know what you find. I have also added a second image showing the thermal fuse. I am sorry I though the previous image showed it.

Dry not tumbling ( rough tumble), making excessively loud noise. Kenmore 11070602990

A:

Hi Carey,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Here is a video that demonstrates disassembly of a dryer like yours; Video . If the dryer is loud during tumble, check the belt, rollers, and idler arm first. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. The dryer in this video may not look exactly like yours but the procedure is basically the same.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed for your Kenmore model number 110.70602990 dryer .
