Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer, Kenmore Electric 11069822801. Dryer does not start, timer doesn't wear down, but light inside dryer comes on.

A:

hank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the dryer will not at least start and run while the push to start button is pushed and held, then it could have blown thermal fuse, a faulty timer or door switch even though the drum light comes on when the door is opened.

I would first check the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is located next to the thermistor which is mounted on the blower housing. The thermal fuse will have two blue wires connected to it. The thermal fuse can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. You can access the thermal fuse by removing the front lower access panel. There are two clips that must be released located above the lower panel; one near each upper corner. Use a putty knife to slip in above the clip and push in while pulling out on the corners.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I added a link to a previous question with the wiring diagram if needed.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

Q:

kenmore 800 series dryer does not heat up

A:

There is not a reset button for the heater circuit in this Kenmore Dryer Model 110.69822801.

You could have a problem with the voltage supply going to the dryer. The motor will run if only the 120 volt L1 leg of voltage is supplied to the dryer. If the second 120 volt leg (L2) is missing, then the dryer won't heat.

Check the house circuit breakers or house fuses for the 240 volt dryer outlet. If one of the breakers is tripped (or one of the house fuses is blown) then you may be able to fix this problem by resetting the house circuit breaker for the dryer (or replacing the blown house fuse).

If the circuit breakers are okay, you may consider testing the 240 volt dryer electrical outlet using a volt/ohm meter (if you feel comfortable making that check). Here is a URL for a video that shows how to safely check that outlet voltage:

http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/articles/authored/video-how-to-perform-a-voltage-check-on-a-240-volt-outlet

If the outlet is okay, then you can unplug the dryer and check the wiring for the outlet cord on the terminal block. Here is a link for the installation manual that shows the wiring connections for the outlet cord on the back of the dryer: Installation Instructions

If that wiring is okay, then you probably have an internal component failure. You could have a failed heating element, a blown thermal cut-off fuse, an open high limit thermostat, a failed heater relay, a bad control board or a wiring failure in that circuit. If you want to diagnose an internal component failure in the dryer, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

How to put together Washer 110.69822801 and pedestal W10154785?

A:

That dryer model 110.69822801 is not designed for pedestal installation. It has a console at the back of the top panel. There are no pedestals available that will fit that dryer since it is not designed for that type of installation. I apologize for the mistakes that you encountered and for the inconvenience. You may be able to get by without that dryer being mounted on a pedestal. If you want to match up a dryer (that you can mount on a pedestal) with your current washer, reply with that washer model number and I will see what is available.
